Day Two
The Why, What, and Who of Play
- Dive deep into what play is, why it matters, and how it enriches learning.
- Discover types of play and connect them to swim teaching.
- Study play pioneers to understand the foundation of child-centred, play-based education and how it translates to the pool.
Day Three
Designing Play-Based Swim Lessons
Collaboratively plan a play-based swim lesson, incorporating knowledge from Days 1 and 2.
- Focus on balancing structure and spontaneity to meet swimmers’ needs, ensuring the lesson builds skills while keeping engagement high.
- Share and discuss your lesson plan with other teachers, receiving peer feedback and refining ideas.
